Privacy Policy
This page explains what information WaterModo collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain English so you do not need a lawyer to read it.
Last updated: August 10, 20261. Who we are
WaterModo is a free website that helps offices, workplaces, and businesses find and compare bottleless water cooler rental and service companies across the United States. You can browse providers by city, read our guides, and ask for free quotes.
We are a directory and a quote service. We are not a water cooler supplier. We do not install, rent, or service coolers ourselves. In this policy, "WaterModo," "we," "us," and "our" all mean WaterModo. "You" means anyone who visits the site or sends us a request.
By using our site, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the site.
2. What we collect
We only collect what we need to run the site and pass your request to the right companies. Here is the full list.
Information you give us
- Your name and the name of your company or organization.
- Your email address and phone number.
- Your business address, city, state, or ZIP code.
- Details about your request, such as team size, number of coolers you need, the cooler type you want, and your rough budget or timing.
- Anything else you type into a form, a message, or an email to us.
Information we collect on our own
- Your IP address and the general area it points to, such as your city or state.
- Your browser type, device type, screen size, and operating system.
- The pages you view, how long you stay, and the links you click.
- The site or search that sent you to us, and any campaign tags in the link you used.
- The date and time of your visit.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for or want your Social Security number, your bank or card numbers, your health records, or any other sensitive personal data. Please do not send that kind of information to us. Payments for a water cooler rental are handled by the supplier you choose, not by WaterModo.
3. How we collect it
We collect information in three ways:
- Directly from you. When you fill in a quote form, use one of our tools, sign up for updates, apply to list your company, or send us a message.
- Automatically. When your browser loads our pages, it shares standard technical details with our servers and with the analytics tools we use.
- From other companies. Suppliers and partners may tell us that they contacted you or that a match worked out. We may also check public business records when we verify a listing.
4. How we use it
We use your information for these reasons and no others:
- To match your request with water cooler companies that serve your area.
- To pass your request to those companies so they can send you a quote.
- To reply to your questions and give you support.
- To run our cost, sizing, and comparison tools and show you the results.
- To send you emails you asked for, such as guides or updates, which you can stop at any time.
- To keep the site working, spot bugs, and make pages load faster.
- To understand which pages and cities are useful so we can improve them.
- To stop spam, fraud, and abuse of our forms.
- To follow the law and answer valid legal requests.
We do not sell your personal information for money. When you ask for quotes, we share your request with suppliers so they can respond. That is the whole point of the form, and we tell you before you send it. Some privacy laws call that kind of sharing a "sale" or a "share." You can opt out at any time using the steps in section 8.
5. Who we share it with
We share your information only in the situations below.
| Who | Why they get it |
|---|---|
| Water cooler suppliers | So the companies that cover your area can prepare a quote and contact you about it. |
| Partner quote networks | In some cities we work with outside quote networks, such as 360Connect, to reach more suppliers. Those partners get the same request you sent us and use it to line up matching companies. |
| Service providers | Companies that host our site, send our email, host our forms, or run our analytics. They may only use your data to do that job for us. |
| Legal and safety | Courts, regulators, or law enforcement when a valid request requires it, or when we need to protect our rights, our users, or the public. |
| Business transfer | A buyer or investor if WaterModo is ever sold, merged, or reorganized. Your data would stay covered by a policy at least as protective as this one. |
Once a supplier or partner receives your request, they handle your information under their own privacy policy. We ask our partners to keep your data safe and to use it only to respond to you, but we do not control what they do after that. If you no longer want to hear from a supplier, tell them directly and they must stop.
6. Cookies and tracking
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser. We use a few types:
- Needed cookies. These keep the site working, remember your form progress, and block spam. The site cannot run without them.
- Analytics cookies. These count visits and show us which pages people find useful. The reports we see are grouped, not tied to your name.
- Marketing cookies. These help us measure whether an ad or a campaign brought useful visitors to the site.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. If you block the needed ones, parts of the site may stop working. Most browsers also have a "Do Not Track" setting. There is still no agreed standard for how sites should answer it, so we do not respond to that signal today. We do honor the Global Privacy Control signal where the law requires it.
7. Your choices
- Do not fill in the form. You can read every guide, tool, and city page without giving us any personal details.
- Stop our emails. Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email. You may still get replies to a question you asked.
- Stop supplier calls. Ask the supplier to remove you from their list, or ask us and we will pass the request along.
- Ask us to delete your data. Send us a message and we will take care of it, unless a law requires us to keep a record.
8. Your privacy rights
Where you live may give you extra rights over your personal data. States such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia, and others give residents the right to:
- Know what personal data we hold about you and where it came from.
- Get a copy of that data.
- Correct data that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your data.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your data, and of targeted ads.
- Be treated the same whether or not you use these rights.
To use any of these rights, contact us through our contact page and tell us which right you want to use. We may ask a question or two to confirm it is really you. We reply within 45 days and will tell you if we need more time. You may also name an agent to make the request for you.
9. How long we keep data
We keep quote requests for up to three years so we can settle questions about a match and improve how we route requests. We keep email sign ups until you unsubscribe. We keep basic website records for up to two years. After that we delete the data or strip out anything that could identify you. Records we must keep by law are held for as long as the law says.
10. How we protect data
We use encrypted connections, limit who on our team can see personal data, and review our tools and hosting for weak spots. No website can promise perfect security, so we cannot guarantee it either. If a breach ever affects your personal data, we will tell you and the right authorities as quickly as the law requires.
Our site is built for users in the United States and our data is stored here. If you visit from another country, your information will be sent to and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from your own.
11. Children
WaterModo is a business service meant for adults. It is not for children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you think a child sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it right away.
12. Links to other sites
Our pages link to supplier websites, review sites, and other outside pages. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for how they handle your data. It is worth reading their policy before you share anything with them.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our service, our tools, or the law changes. The date at the top of the page always shows the most recent version. If a change matters a lot, we will make it clear on the site. Using WaterModo after a change means you accept the new version.
14. How to reach us
Questions about privacy, a request to see or delete your data, or a complaint about how we handled your information all go to the same place. Use our contact page and pick "Privacy request" as the topic. We read every message and reply as fast as we can.
You may also want to read our Terms of Use and our Disclosure, which explain the rules for using the site and how we make money.
